    HR Generalist

    The Human Resources Generalist works within the assigned areas to provide human resource expertise to the organization in all aspects of the H.R. function. The HR Generalist will work in a project management capacity and acts as an internal consultant to the organization and its employees. This position will assist the Manager in the implementation and coordination of payroll, policies, programs, and procedures, and in the development of employee programs. Is responsible for maintaining time worked, vacation and personal days for all employees.   

    Responsibilities

    • Manage development, design, implementation and on-going review and revision of specialized projects as assigned.
    • Stay abreast of policy changes and ensure impacted procedures and programs are updated to incorporate revisions or updates.
    • Offer advice and counsel to managers, supervisors and employees as to human resource policies and procedures.
    • Listen to employee problems and provide feedback to functional managers to ensure corrective action is taken.
    • Assist in identification, hiring and assimilation of qualified candidates for open positions.
    • Provide feedback to Manager indicating suggested corrective action to resolve any problem areas.
    • Assist in coordinating and implementing company events and employee recognition programs.
    • Maintain employee and departmental files in a neat, organized and secured manner.
    • Maintain employee attendance records accurately (through H.R. software) and work with management in identifying attendance problems.
    • Send information to corporate for payroll processing at corporate office.
    • Coordinate and monitor FMLA and STD paperwork.
    • Assist in processing terminations and coordinate job posting process.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Human Resources and 3-5 years’ experience.
    • Professional Human Resource Certification a plus.
    • Fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Working knowledge of state and federal laws.
